CARMEN GUILLEMOT TOURIST ACCOMMODATION
Very accessible location.
Located at the southern end of the Catalan coast, just 2 km from the N-340 national road and 5 km from Exit 42 of the Mediterranean Motorway (AP-7), it is an ideal place to stop over on a journey and an excellent base for exploring southern Tarragona and northern Castellón.
Les Cases d’Alcanar, with its many restaurants serving authentic seafood cuisine, the Ebro Delta, Peñíscola, and the five Michelin-starred restaurants located between three and fifteen kilometres from the accommodation are among the destinations most frequently visited by our guests.
A Charming Place, Warm Hospitality and Handcrafted Cuisine
Carmen, the host, spent decades combining cooking and painting after leaving the Faculty of Fine Arts to open her first restaurant.
Today, she expresses her love of traditional handmade cooking by preparing breakfasts that are a true gift — and not only because they are offered free of charge. The quality of the ingredients, the meticulous artisanal preparation and the fact that everything is freshly made make breakfast a truly exceptional experience.
Carmen spent her childhood in this house and now enjoys recreating the warmth and care with which her parents welcomed their many guests.
Objects from that era coexist harmoniously with more contemporary furniture, paintings by the hostess herself and works by local artists who have played an important role in her life, including her daughter.
The result is a unique and deeply personal space where every corner tells a story: the story of the first television to arrive in the village, of the little electric toy cooker Carmen received for her sixth birthday, or of the dinner she prepared for Peter Dinklage, Conleth Hill, Sibel Kekilli, Jeremy Podeswa, David Benioff, D. B. Weiss and Bernadette Caulfield to celebrate the completion of filming for Game of Thrones in Peñíscola. That dinner was served at the very same table where guests enjoy their breakfast today.

The rooms
A total of four rooms can be rented in this guesthouse, either individually or together.
Although they differ in layout, size, character and price, they all offer the same services and amenities. They also all feature windows in both the bedroom and the bathroom, ensuring excellent natural light and ventilation throughout.
Practical Information
Fluent communication is available in Spanish, Catalan, and French. For English, translation tools are used, except when the host’s daughter is present, as she speaks it fluently.
Air conditioning in the bedrooms and common areas. Central heating and a fireplace in the living room.
Pets are welcome for a small additional fee depending on their size and the season, provided they bring their own bed.
Rooms are rented individually, and the minimum stay is one night, except in August and on a few specific dates.
Connectivity: excellent free Wi-Fi service.
All bedrooms have a private bathroom and plenty of natural light. Three of the four bedrooms have direct access to the terrace.
All bedrooms are equipped with bed linen, towels, a hairdryer, and eco-friendly hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo.
It is usually easy to find parking very close to the accommodation.
The house is free from toxic products. Bed linen, towels, dishes, and kitchen utensils are cleaned using Kangen water, baking soda, and eco-friendly products.
The house was built in the 1950s, and its original structure has been preserved as much as possible. It does not have a lift and is not adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Bespoke Culinary Craftsmanship
After asking guests about their preferences and any possible intolerances, Carmen prepares a delicious breakfast, with everything served being homemade.
If you follow a low-carb diet, feel free to mention it: this is the way of eating the host herself follows, and she will be happy to share her favourite recipes with you, including her bulletproof coffee.
Among the homemade preparations, there is a lemongrass and rooibos kombucha with ginger, available in the fridge in the kitchen area, along with another very special detail: glass bottles filled with hidrogen-rich Kangen water that guests are welcome to take to their room if they wish.
A highly recommended stay, both for the service and the lovely feeling of being in such a welcoming environment. But the best thing of all, without a doubt, was the food that Carmen, a magnificent chef, prepared for us every day. The roasted sweet potatoes and the confit artichokes were amazing. We'll be back soon, as we've formed a wonderful friendship.

The room was spacious, clean, with access to a lovely balcony and even a table with a board game 😄 Carme was very kind and hospitable, as well as an excellent cook!
